If you are Registered for the course you will receive, the course note from you instructor, read lesson one and do the review. once you complete that come here and click on the complete button. do this for all upcoming lessons.

This Lesson consists of the 6 Attributes of a Gemstone, while covering the origin and chemical nature of gemstones,
In later lessons you will learn about the physical and optical properties, magnetism, basic crystallography, the absorption of light, refraction and reflection, polarized light, pleochroism, specific gravity, luminescence, magnification, classification and types of inclusions, and thermal conductivity. We will also look closely at the various instruments used to identify gemstones including the spectroscope, the refractometer, the polariscope, the dichroscope, hydrostatic testing and specific gravity liquids, ultraviolet light (long-wave and short-wave) and x-rays, the hand loupe, the microscope, the reflectivity meter, and the various diamond and moissanite testers.
At the end of each lesson you will find a lesson review and midway through the course there is a fifty question multiple choice ‘open’ book test that covers the first five lessons and is accessible online.
